Jim Beatty, MA, Director, has been teaching creative movement, dance, drama, circus arts, yoga and circle time activities to children & adults for over 25 years. He teaches at "Ha Ha This A-Way’s" Eighth Street Studio in Berkeley, at S.P.A.C.E. (Near and Arnold's School of Performing Arts and Cultural Education) in Ukiah, CA, and as a creative movement enrichment specialist at numerous East Bay Preschools and Kindergartens. In 1991 he founded "Ha Ha This A-Way" Creative Movement/Theatre Arts, initially, an after-school program and summer day camp for children. A performing artist as well as a teacher, Jim has a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on Child, Adolescent and Family Counseling. In addition to teaching, Jim works privately as a Child/Life & Family Coach, working with children, parents and families and leading Expressive Arts/Social Skills Friendship Groups for Children with peer relationship difficulties.
