Presenting fun, easy to learn, Creative Movement, Circle Time, Dramatic Play, Dance, Yoga, Rhythm & Music Activities & Games and Group Teaching Methods, that are great for preschool and early elementary aged children.

No previous dance, creative movement, theater or circle time experience required.

In the morning, we'll meet & greet and dance, sing & play 'til noon. Then, we'll enjoy sharing a light lunch with food & beverages provided.
(Potluck contributions are welcome.)
After lunch, we'll dance, sing & play 'til 3 p.m.

Fee: $90 ($75 with prepaid registration)*

This is a playful, fun, experiential workshop.

    As A Participant, you will:

  • Experience and learn fun creative movement, dramatic play, yoga, rhythm & music, dance, cooperative games and circle time activities that can be used in the classroom, playgroup and clinical setting or at home.
     
  • Develop teaching and group leadership skills in: Classroom management & participation; problem solving and inclusion; and beginning, ending and transition techniques.
     
  • Receive creative movement & circle time lesson plans, a detailed list of activities and materials, and a bibliography of resources.
     
  • Be able to order a workshop DVD.

 
Jim Beatty

Jim Beatty, MA, has been teaching creative movement, dance, drama, circus arts, yoga and circle time activities to children & adults for over 25 years. He teaches at "Ha Ha This A-Way’s" Eighth Street Studio in Berkeley, at S.P.A.C.E. (Near and Arnold's School of Performing Arts and Cultural Education) in Ukiah, CA, and as a creative movement enrichment specialist at numerous East Bay Preschools and Kindergartens. In 1991 he founded "Ha Ha This A-Way" Creative Movement/Theatre Arts, initially, an after-school program and summer day camp for children. A performing artist as well as a teacher, Jim has a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on Child, Adolescent and Family Counseling. In addition to teaching, Jim works privately as a Child/Life & Family Coach, working with children, parents and families and leading Expressive Arts/Social Skills Friendship Groups for Children with peer relationship difficulties.
